Highlights from NoiseAtWork 2007

In the wake of the European Noise at Work Summit that took place in Bilbao last December, the Institute of Noise Control Engineering of Europe (INCE/Europe), the French Information Centre on Noise (CIDB) and the Organization for Prevention and Control of Industrial and Professional Risks (Association AINF) organised, from 3 to 5 July 2007, the first edition of the Forum on Efficient Solutions for Managing Occupational Noise Risks. This event intended to contribute to increasing the dissemination of existing knowledge in all sectors affected by occupational noise.

NoiseAtWork 2007 has been organised with the support of:
- the French ministry of Employment and social cohesion,
- the French ministry of Culture and Communication (general delegation for the French language and languages of France),
- the French Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Planning and Development,
- the Nord-Pas de Calais Regional Council.

NoiseAtWork 2007 organisers:
Ince/Europe
INCE/Europe is an initiative formed in 1999 and registered in the UK to assist individuals across Europe working in noise and vibration control and the effects of noise, particularly those persons from a non-acoustic background. The organisation is a Member Society of International INCE (the International Institute of Noise Control Engineering), a Sustaining Member of the European Acoustics Association.

CIDB
The Centre for Noise Information and Documentation (CIDB, Centre d’Information et de Documentation sur le Bruit) is a non-profit organization established in 1978 by the Ministry of the Environment. This organisation brings together 2000 members from public and private sectors working in noise reduction. The CIDB provides information and documentation for each actor through: library, website, journals, directory, booklets, exhibitions, conferences and training courses.

ASSOCIATION AINF
Association AINF (Association INterprofessionnelle de France pour la prévention des risques et la promotion de la sécurité et de la santé au travail) is a nonprofit, state-approved, organisation founded in 1894 and dedicated to the protection of workers by promoting safety, health and quality of the environment. With 1000 subscribers, both companies and local communities strongly anchored in Nord Pas-de-Calais and Picardie, Association AINF aims at helping its members, and, through them, the whole working world, to control occupational risks related to industrial and professional activities.
